Commons.fi is a collective and network that has been active since 2014, working to build a different kind of economy and society. We are united by our interest in the commons and commoning, as well as solidarity economy and other communal practices in which social life is organized around shared resources, collaboration, and democratic, ecological, and solidarity-based values.

For us, this is part of a broader social movement and political orientation against competition, inequality, and the private pursuit of profit. “Commons” refers not only to shared resources but also to their collective production through practices of shared responsibility, care, and stewardship—“commoning.”

Commons.fi is an open publishing platform for discussions on shared prosperity and the solidarity economy. In addition to publishing content, we organize meetings, book clubs, and discussion events that bring people together. We aim to strengthen connections between different initiatives and deepen collaborative processes that promote a democratic and just society.

Commons.fi is also part of the broader international movement for the commons. We are a member of the European RIPESS network, which brings together actors in the solidarity economy from around the world. Commons.fi is run by an editorial board and an open network.
