Summary :

The multitude of artistic and cultural initiatives of the social and solidarity economy develops very varied activities. They reflect the contemporary aspiration to take part in artistic and cultural life, as manifested more broadly by the expansion of cultural associations in France, which numbered 7,200 in 1959 and now more than 267,000.
