Résumé :

This text was written from a presentation given during the Conference on Globalization and Citizenship organized by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), in Geneva between the 9th and 11th December 1996. Marcos Arruda defines the globalization of today as competitive, with the aim of homogenizing.

As far as he is concerned, another globalization based on solidarity and auto-development principles both is possible and desirable. After describing the main aspects of the globalization of today, suggest we concentrate on three dimensions that constitute a project of transformation of the world of work to occupy the economic, political, informative, communicative and cultural space.
